Today, the tools and discussion forums are at it again; it seems we have yet another Google algorithm update.
Traffic and rankings are again changing for many websites.
The following is the latest chatter within the WebmasterWorld.com forums:
Traffic throttled again this afternoon after a really good morning. What is going on.
One of my Google news sites stopped appearing in top stories after 3rd May. The site has high authority, unique content, quality backlinks, and no errors.
The competitors with copied & bot-generated content are ranking above in top stories. What’s going on really?
Strange. The SERPs seem much cleaner this morning here in the UK. I haven’t seen one of those maddening popups at all. Some slight movement in positions that seemed set in stone as well.
My USA traffic is now down 25% v many years average however, I have to stress it again, this is not a surprise when I see the US SERPs bias against non-US company websites in my sector.
To be honest the US market for my widgets has been an extremely low profit margin for years and now many wholesalers are demanding even lower prices, this can only mean one thing insofar as I am concerned IF we are to continue to supply, and that is a lower quality product.
This has been on-going for several years therefore I may dump the USA market altogether, I do not need this garbage from people with MBAs who haven’t a clue with no realworld product knowledge whatsoever.
Another morning with huge drop. This week is quite tense.
Starting the day with my home page traffic -80% and USA traffic -60%. Yesterday both down -12%. More importantly, one inquiry this week. This lower USA traffic since March is killing my business.
What’s Going On With These Updates?
This is yet another unconfirmed update from Google, and so far they are not acknowledging it.
Should anything change on that front, we will let you know.
For now, all we can do is wait and see what happens with our sites in the algorithm updates.
We will of course continue to keep you updated on all of the latest developments.
