One SEO professional was curious about multiple job posting Schema markup. In a hangout, they asked John regarding this Schema markup.
Their question was about multiple job postings in different domains. With job posting structured data, they were under the impression that, because of the guidelines, it’s not a good idea to use this Schema more than once on the same page.
As an international job provider, they have a corporate structure with several brand websites, but also multiple subdomains for one brand. The question is: is it a problem if the same job postings are posted on the same root domain, but different subdomains with structured data from the job posting?
For example: say one of the same jobs is on jobs.domain, and the other one on www.domain. It’s the same job, but maybe different styling, and perhaps with the same structured data on both subdomains being posted.
Is there a problem with that?
John explained that while he did not know all details regarding job postings, he would assume that’s perfectly fine, because it’s common to have the same job posted on different websites.
These different websites could have structured data on them also.
From this perspective, just having it hosted at different times on the same site, or in different subdomains, that should be perfectly fine also.
He doesn’t know the details of all of the guidelines surrounding Job postings, though. So it may be that there’s some obscure method that you should only list once on each site.
But, John would be surprised if this were a problem.
This happens at approximately the 14:44 mark in the video.

Hi, John. Yes. Great. Thank you. So I have a question regarding multiple job postings on different domains with job posting structured data. As I have understood the guidelines, it’s not so good to post multiple times structured data on the same page, let’s say.
So as an international job provider, we have a corporate structure with multiple brand websites, but also multiple subdomains for one brand.
The question is, is it problematic if the same job postings are posted on the same root domain, but different subdomains with structured data from the job posting? So let’s say one of the same job is one on jobs.domain, and the other one is on www.domain, it’s the same job, maybe different styling, but the same structured data on both subdomains is posted. Is there any problem with that?

I–I don’t know all of the details around job postings. But I would assume that’s perfectly fine, because it’s very common to have the same job posted on different websites. And those different websites could have structured data on them as well.
So from that point of view, just having it hosted at different times on the same website, or in different subdomains, that should be perfectly fine as well. I don’t know the details of the–all of the guidelines around job postings, though.
So it might be that there’s some obscure mention that you should only list it once on each website. But I would be surprised if that were a problem.

Okay. So do you think it will affect Google for Jobs? And it would appear two times on Google for Jobs? One for the one subdomain, one for the second subdomain, right?
John 16:35
I don’t know. I don’t know how they would tri–because usually, we do try to de-dupe different listings. And we do that for all kinds of listings. So if it’s an image or if it’s a webpage, or anything else, where if we can recognize that it’s the same primary content, we will try to just show it once. I would assume that we do the same thing for Google Jobs. I don’t know the details there, though.
